Roller/Disc Heaters

Elmatic manufactures a range of quality disc and roller heaters which are be used for a number of applications. These heaters are mainly used for heat sealing in rollers on production line packaging machinery.

Designs

These roller and disc heaters are available and manufactured in aluminium, mild steel or stainless steel turned shells with a 5mm square section heater formed to a coil and fitted into the roller or disc. Each heater provides an alternative to a standard cast aluminium heater.

The advantages of our disc and roller heaters:-

  • There is more heater length which reduces the watts density of the element allowing a longer life.
  • Because the element design is that the element is fitted to the inner side of the outside edge, the heat is directed on the surface to be heated and not absorbed into the casting.
  • Because there is not a casting process, the elements do not get damp during the machining process when being turned. This sometimes causes the element to absorb moisture in the magnesium oxide which gives low IR values.
  • The availability of the square section heater is normally two weeks compared to the long delivery of a cast in unit reducing supply problems in case of a breakdown.

Working Temperatures

Our aluminium maximum working temperature is 300 deg C, watt density of 25w SQ inches (4w SQ cm). Also, our mild steel and stainless steel maximum working temperature is 600 deg C, watt density of 35w SQ inches (5.5w SQ cm).

Elmatic LTD aim’s to provide their customers and clients with outstanding quality heaters. The disc and roller heaters will provide maximum heat sealing to your application for package machinery. For more information about these heaters, feel free to email sales@elmatic.co.uk and we will respond to your message as soon as possible. Silicone Rubber Heaters

We manufacturer a quality selection of silicone rubber heater mats for precise heat distribution and applications. They are recommended for heating lower / medium temperature Drums, Cylinders, flat plates, Water Basins, Food Process Machinery and much more.

  • Operating Temperatures up to 200ºC
  • Precise even distribution of heat
  • Available with self adhesive backing
  • Thermostatic Control available

Design

All rubber silicone heater mats are manufactured to conform the EEC Low Voltage and EMC Directives and are CE marked accordingly.

We provide silicone heater rubber mats because of its high temperature tolerance and superb electrical insulation. They are produced by laminating the evenly spaced resistance wires between two sheets of silicone rubber, reinforced with a glass textile to give improved mechanical strength.

These surface heaters are suitable for applications where precise heating is required. Fine resistance wires accurately and precisely positioned over areas of almost any shape or size. The close even spacing of the wires ensure a uniform heat distribution over the entire working area. The maximum continuous operating temperature for our rubber silicone heater mats is 200°C and allows a generous safety margin for short term over-temperature excursions as high as 230°C. Being thin and lightweight, the silicone heater mat has a low thermal mass and, therefore, has the rapid heat up characteristics and a fast response to temperature control.

Our silicone heater rubber mats can be manufactured in almost any size and shape to suit the application, even including holes and cut outs without disturbing the distribution of heat. Also, it is available in a range of in-built temperature limiters and sensors to suit customer’s instrumentation.

Our surface heaters can be supplied with an acrylic self-adhesive backing to allow for easy positioning and assembling. These silicone heater mats can also be manufactured with eyelets, straps, hooks or Velcro. As for heaters which are not for static applications, we can supply a more rugged silicone material to allow for repeated handling which will give a longer life.

Consists of smooth PTFE tube sheathed with stainless steel, insulated by silicon foam (200°C) union with stainless steel free nut ( BSP with cone 60°), temperature control by PT100 or thermocouple type J or K centered on the heating hose.

Elmatic Heated Hoses will heat electrically any type of flexible hose, either single hoses or multiple hoses bunched together. We can also heat hoses supplied by customers, or advise on suitable alternatives.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding our silicone rubber heater mats, email sales@elmatic.co.uk and we will respond to your message as soon as possible. As Elmatic is the leading manufacturers of industrial and electric heating elements in the UK.
